Investigation of Carriers Aınong Working in the Kitchens of Selcuk University

In this study, the conditions of carriage among 111 people working in the kitchens of Selcuk University were evaluated. From pharyngeal secretions 4.5% S.aureus, . 2.7% B hemolytic streptecocci; from nasal secretion 73.9% S.aureus, 4.5% Gram negative bacilli; From hand and nail scrapings 57.7%S.aureus, 9.9% Gram negative bacilli were grown. The pathogen Staphylococci colonization of nasal secretions were interesting. No Salmonella and Shigella species was found in the feces speciment, and it was found by parasitological evaluaton that %4.5 of the workers have helminthiasis and 3.6% giardiasis. The percentage of HBsAg was 7.2%. The necessary precautions were taken, and follow-up examinations and controls carried out quarterly.
