This study was performed in the deparment of general surgery of Ankara Universitiy Medical Faculty, betvveen September 1992-December 1992. Thirty patients were diagnosed chronic venous insufficiency and 15 healty per- son were evaluated by colour doppler ultrasonography and the results were compared with venography findings. İn the diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, colour doppler shovved 87 % sensitivity, 80 % spesifity, 85 % ac- curacy, % 80 pozitive predictive value, % 87 negatif predictive value, As a conclusion in the diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency coloured doopler USG can be considered as the primary diagnostic method. İt is also a cheep and non in vasi ve scanning method.
