Between the years of 1989-1993, 67 patient with ureteropelvic strictures have been treated in Konya Selcuk University, Urology Department.. We performed 30 dismembered pyeloplasty, 5 Foley Y-V plasty, 2 vertical flap pyeloplasty, 2 spiral flap pyeloplasty, 2 Heineke Mikulich procedure, 2 Davis' intubated ureterostomy and 24 endoscopic transluminal balloon dilatation. Transluminal ballon dilatation was successful approximately 67 percent of the ureteropelvic strictures for a year follow-up. If endourolgic treatment failed one of the open surgical procedures was per formed. As a result of the study, we believe that transluminal ballon dilatation is a good alternative to open procedures in selective cases
