In this study, left ventricular systolic function pa-rameters including cardiac index (CI), stroke index (SI), ejection fraction (EF) and fr-actional shortening (FS), diastolic inflow and peak systolic velocity of the umhilical artery were evaluated using Doppleı-echocardiography in IS pregnant women with pre-eclampsia and IS normal pregnant women and their fetus. Although systolic and diastolic blood pressures, resistance indices were sigmficantly higher in preg-nant women with preeclampsia (p<0.05). Umblical peak systolic and diastolic flow were lower com-pared ta the conn-ol group (p<0.05). The difterence regarding left ventricular end-diastolic and end-systolic dimensions and syswlic function paı-ameters was insignificant (p>0.05), except foı- left vent-ricular mass which was found tü be significantly higher in the preeclampsia group (p<0.05). There were no signıficant difference regarding left vent-ricular end-systoli• and end-diastilic dimensions (p>0.05). In conclusion. despite var-iations in the umblical arterial systolic and diastolic flow. fetal systolic function is preserved
