The purpose of that study is comparing reusuable and disposable
dropes’ medical waste and washing expenditures. Sample of
definer type study generates 304 case who fallowed at a training
and research hospital.Parameters were collected with using “the
inspection form of surgial dropes”.The work order of operating room
was not interfereted and all cases were choosen randomly.Both
drope groups were used in all surgeries which is in group of sample
and it was watched by researchers.For practicable study;written
written authority was gotten from Ethical Committee of The Selçuk
University and Educational Planning and Coordination Committee
of Konya Training and Research Hospital.Datas were summerized
with number,percent,average and standart deviation. T and ANOVA
tests were used on analysis.Findings: The cost of buying medical
waste and materials generates the cost of disposable dropes.
In case reusuable dropes,washing and sterilization costs on used
dropes generate main costs .Resusuable dropes has a cot overrun
was determined. Disposable dropes are more cost-effective than the
disposable dropes.
