Between January 1983-January 1993, 315 pa-tients with deep vein thrombosis were treated in our clinic. In 49 of them pulmonary embolism were present. 4 paiients with pulmonary embolism died in hospital, 3 of them died due to embolism. Ali pa-tients were symptomatic, diagnosis of them were de-pended on clinical and laboratory findings. It was ac-cented that pulmonary embolism may occur on silent thrombosis and the importance of the relation-ship between deep yein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
